NSW: RACI Crystal Competition 2009

Enter the RACI Crystal Growing Competition and create your own crystals within just six weeks. Then, have the crystals judged and displayed during National Science Week.

The competition is aimed at primary and junior secondary school students with three ‘closed’ divisions: K–Year 3, Years 4–6 and Years 7–8 where the aim is to make potash alum crystals. There is also an Open Division for students from K–10 in which entrants may grow any crystal of their choice.

Crystals will be judged on size, shape and clarity. The winning crystals in each division will receive certificates and winning schools receive a trophy.

Crystal growing starts in Term 2. To find out more visit the RACI website.
