How to succeed at school with LOTS of effort.

1.                  Each night do your homework.

2.                  Set a study timetable. (example as shown below)                  

3.                  Study is not homework. It is separate. It involves:                                        

A.    review your lesson notes

- any questions see your teacher next lesson                                                                          

-          look for areas of further research

B.     summarise your notes – subheadings, brief notes

C.     identify areas needing rote learning and do it

D.    find and do extra questions/past papers

 

To work out a study timetable:

 

SATURDAY

SUNDAY

1. identify times that cannot be used meals, work, chores around home

7.30 – 8.00

 

 

2. select the subjects you enjoy most to start with

8.00 – 8.30

 

 

3. don’t study for long periods, have a break for 10 – 20 minutes each hour

8.30 – 9.00

 

 

4. make sure each of your subjects has sufficient study time over the week
